Later I read more of Milan’s earlier works, although not all of them– wife had read more of them than I did and recommended which ones were the most worth my time. To this date, The Countess Conspiracy counts among my very favourite books, top of the crop. Science! And plants! And genetics! And unrequited love to your best friend! And then there were the supporting characters, among them, Violet’s mother, who is such a great surprise in the book. So after I read Suffragette, I went through the previous Brothers Sinister novels I liked The Duchess War and The Heiress Effect, but it was The Countess Conspiracy that became my favourite. Romance that can be smart, funny, hot, pulling on your heartstrings AND openly feminist? Well count me right in. It was The Suffragette Scandal and finally, I was hooked. And I decided that maybe I would read it too. Then wife was waiting for the latest CM novel in the Brothers Sinister series to be released, and bought it on release. did enamour wife, who continued to read other Courtney Milan books. It was The Governess Affair and it was enjoyable and cute, but it didn’t quite enamour me. What are you reading now?
